I think this is an apartment building and the teacups are balconies. This street had the greatest stuff. They sold everything from chopsticks to neon signs to restaurant tables and chairs. A lot of the restaurants here have plastic food models outside so you can see what they offer; I even saw the food models for sale. After our stroll around here we ate at a great soba restaurant (buckwheat noodles). The noodles are made in-house.
Here is the Kabuki theater in Ginza. We got there as soon as the show let out, so we had to go across the street in order to not be trampled while taking pictures.
A shot of Ginza at night. I was surprised- most of the stores here closed fairly early, at 8:00. The stores near us are open until 10:00. For Gen's birthday dinner we went to a Belgian restaurant for mussels and fries. He was still hungry, so we also got a pizza. It had a strange flavor (good, but different) and I was trying to figure out what it was when Gen burst out laughing. Turns out it was curry beef pizza. Not being able to completely read menus has resulted in us sampling some strange dishes. Cod roe cheesesticks, anyone?
Love the giant chef head. Too funny. BTW, we got slammed by a snow storm while you guys were off having fun halfway around the world. I'm not bitter.
ReplyDeleteI know! Gen's mom said 7 inches? It snowed here last night and last Friday, but it never sticks because there's nothing but pavement. I hope you at least got to take a snow day and make snow angels with Lucas.
ReplyDeleteHey cuz,
ReplyDeleteThanks for all of the great pictures and info. I will have to stayed tuned in. I love seeing the sights. I didn't realize Gen's birthday was the same as Anna's 1st or the rest for that matter :) Tell him happy belated b-day from us. Keep having a fantabulous time. It will fly by!!!!!!!
Happy trails,
